  • Level Determination: Parents are expected to self-determine the level that is suitable for the student.
  • Beginner Level: Students should have excellent math skills appropriate above grade 5.
  • Intermediate Level rerequisite: Students should have familiarity with Pre-algebra, algebra basics and basic geometry. Details of these subject areas may be found by clicking on the hyperlinks which will take you to the corresponding Khan Academy courses.
  • Advanced Level Prerequisite: Students should have familiarity with Pre-algebra, algebra basics and basic geometry. Details of these subject areas may be found by clicking on the hyperlinks which will take you to the corresponding Khan Academy courses. In order to ensure that your child has the prerequisite background to keep pace with the course, we advise that they take the self-assessment test at the link Advanced Course Self-Assessment. To be ready for this course, the student should be able to answer all of the questions in the assessment in about 20 minutes.

  • Parents: The prerequisite knowledge for the above courses will not be covered in the class. The pace of the class will not slow down if your child can’t keep up. It is therefore important for the student to meet the prerequisites for this class. For maximum benefit, it is also expected that the students spend at least 1-2 hours each day doing the assigned homework.
